Claiming & Defenses
Setting Up a Claim (Minto Guide)
This guide explains how to set up and manage land claims on a Minto-enabled Minecraft server using anchors, nodes, nests, and paper.
Claims help protect your builds, control access, and engage in the server’s raiding system.
🧱 Anchors
To safeguard your loot and structures, you must establish and maintain a claim. Anchors serve as the core of your protection system.
Protection & Governance
A few important tidbits to keep your things safe...
- Core of Your Claim
- Acts as the central structure of your protected area — keep it secure!
- Defines a spherical 96-block protection radius around it.
- Claim Behavior
- Your claim is not invulnerable — attacks can still happen.
- Visibility delay: there is a short delay before your claim appears on the 🗺️ map.
- Protection Mechanics
- Grants HP to blocks within its radius, making them harder to break.
- Provides protection at a daily upkeep cost of 16 emeralds.
- Anchor Breaking
- Breaking the anchor with any tool will drop it — be cautious!
Upkeep
- Upkeep is required to maintain claim protection and prevent raiding.
- Each additional node you place within the claim increases upkeep cost.
- Manage and pay upkeep directly at your anchor to sustain claim integrity.
Player Detection
- While you are inside your claim, all nearby players will be visible on the 🗺️ map.
- Players can check if they are inside a claim by referencing the in-game tab list (<#1345417438078042154>).

🧩 Nodes
Nodes strengthen and extend your claims protection
- Connecting Nodes
- Place nodes within the anchor’s protection radius.
- Nodes extend claim features and can represent trusted access points.
- Managing Trust
- Use nodes to trust or untrust other players.
- Trusted players can interact with certain blocks inside the claim (depending on access state).
🐦 Nests
Nests allow community or team-based claim sharing.
- Nest Ownership
- A nest is a shared group that can hold access to multiple anchors and claims.
- Players added to a nest get permissions based on their nest role.
- Collaborative Claiming
- Claims can be assigned to a nest to share access across members.
- Useful for factions, friends, or town setups.
📜 Paper Utility
Paper is used for in-claim access configuration.
- Changing Block Access
- Left-click any block inside a claim while holding paper.
- Cycle through access states:
- None: Only players with anchor access can interact. - Trusted: Only trusted players and those with anchor, nest or alliance access can interact. - Public: Anyone can interact freely.
🔗 External Resources
These resources area technically official, yet the minto developers don't properly maintain it, often leaving it outdated
