Destruction of the North Pole

This was a book created by Somnium Paradiso that was included in gifts to new players.

The Creation of Somnium Paradiso

The North Pole remained empty for the majority of the start of Minto until Somnium Paradiso lead by DarellaTheShrimp was founded on a Mushroom Island. The group expanded to include many members, some fleeing for safety from their own tiles others native to the North Pole that want a place to call home. Somnium Paradiso's goal was to help new players across the North Pole on their journey, they were known to give out shulkers of loot to new players passing through the North Pole (see a book that was included in the shulker at right). Somnium Paradiso expanded over time and become one of the largest groups on the server at the time. As they expanded, Somnium Paradiso became more and more wealthy, but as their wealth increased, their pvp talent did not. Somnium Paradiso mainly contained relative pacifists who were not strong at pvp and lacked ambition to go destroy others. This would be the key to their downfall.

The Fall of Somnium Paradiso

On May 5th 2025, Somnium Paradiso was raided by The Oil Group (at the time called tung tung tung sahur) with their leader SangTangs and member Jigsaw. They raided Somnium Paradiso shortly after a change to the node and anchor system, so that they could take advantage of a base's health destruction after a node is broken. Jigsaw and SangTangs started by creating a secondary base on land near the island. When they first came in, they started by blowing up chests and shulkers on the surface of the base. Of the members of Somnium Paradiso that were online at the time, SangTangs killed HuLa09 and the leader DarellaTheShrimp, as TankBaby10 escaped. Exploiting the new weakness in the node structure of Somnium Paradiso, SangTangs moved to destroy the outermost nodes. SangTangs, utilized tnt to burrow down to the outermost nodes and destroyed it, this weakened all of the blocks around it. He continued by destroying another node on the primary node ring, this then exposed the anchor. Once the anchor was weakened, he destroyed it along with all of the hope and prosperity Somnium Paradiso had brought to the North Pole. When asked why they raided this innocent civilization, SangTangs merely responded "profit" and although Somnium Paradiso's leader DarellaTheShrimp asked if they wanted a ransom paid, they did not respond. SangTangs and Jigsaw left with their "profit" in hand back to their bace on Oceania.

Since the fall of Somnium Paradiso, the North Pole has remained empty, and Somnium Paradiso's members have scattered to different tiles across the server. The Oil Group has continued to expand in players and in influence, as it continues to raid claims both in OCE and across different tiles.
